Last year I wrote about 2020 being my most productive year ever.
Since then, I’ve decided to do a personal audit at the beginning of every year to keep myself accountable towards continuous self improvement.
Even though it’s tough for me to surpass 2020 in terms of achieved results, 2021 hasn’t been too bad, despite having caught COVID.
Here’s a summary of the year gone by
Professional
- Became a KYLC 2021 Member. Kotak Young Leaders Council is a yearly leadership training and mentoring program in Kotak Mahindra Bank, where a handful of candidates are shortlisted across the organization through a rigorous selection process.
- Got a change in job role within the same organization. New position promises to have greater learning potential.
Education
- Prepared for and attempted CFA level 2 exam. This is probably the toughest test I’ve taken in more than a decade. Results are yet to be announced.
- Learned the basics of interior designing.
Fitness
- Improved strength. Best lifts were 100kg*1 Bench Press, 125kg*7 Squat and 150kg*4 Deadlift. This is the strongest I’ve ever been.
- Ran under 30min 5k and under 1 hour 10k.
- Ran 10k everyday for 10days in a charity event.
- Participated in a power lifting tournament – Bucket list check-off.
Content
- Read 12 books and published 12 blog posts, could’ve done better in this aspect.
Personal
- Moved in to our new home.
- Participated in a chess tournament -Bucket list check-off.
- Reached 1700 rapid and 1500 blitz chess rating on Chess.com, hit 2000 rapid rating on Lichess.
Summary
Overall, 2021 has been a good year career-wise. Personally, I got the chance to check off some long pending items from my bucket list. We moved into our first home and recovered promptly from COVID. I could have done better in terms of content creation, which would be my carry over goal to 2022.
